Po Lin Monastery
Lantau Island
This is impressive Buddha image and should not be missed. A visit to Tai O on Lantau is worthwhile also as the village is built on stilts hovering above water. Buses leave from Silvermine Bay on a frequent basis. |

Country Parks
Hong Kong as many excellent parks and are great places to visit and there are so many walks and mountains to explore. Campsites are available in some parks. Contact the Country Parks Authority on telephone
2733 2138 or visit them at 12/Flr, 393 Canton Rd, Kowloon.
If you're after specific maps then visit your local government mapping office to get hold of these. You cannot drive always your car into some of the country parks (Sai Kung being one). So, take a taxi, bus, bike or walk. |

Sai Kung
Is a popular destination on weekends with over 90 restaurants, a few antique stores, kaido's to ferry you to a secluded island or just around the little typhoon shelter. Lovely walks along the promenade and many children's playgrounds. Public transport available from Choi Hung MTR station. |
